Wednesday, January 09, 2008 Mrs. Betty Parker age 65 of 312 Thor Ave, Calhoun, died today (Wednesday) January 9, 2008 in Calhoun Health Care center following an extended illness. Betty was born in Gordon County on September 1, 1942 daughter of the late G.W. and Martha Johnston Quinn and had been a lifetime resident. Prior to her retirement she had worked in the textile industry at Mohawk . She formerly attended South Calhoun Baptist Church and in addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband J.D. Parker, a brother; Jack Quinn and a sister; Dottie Holt. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law; David and Stacey Parker, Gary and Kelly Parker and Randy and Melody Parker all of Calhoun, three brothers; James (Butch) Quinn of Jacksonville, Florida, Kenneth Quinn of Calhoun, and Steve Quinn of Philadelphia, Pa., one sister; Barbara Raben of Dallas, Ga., six grandchildren; Miranda and Derek Parker, Dustin Autry, Emily Parker, Tucker Roach and Natalie Parker. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday January 12th. from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. Stephen Pearson officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Methodist Cemetery near Red Bud. Pallbearers serving include Derek Parker, Tucker roach, Dustin Autry, Danyl Pall and Anthony Quinn and they are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:30 P.M. Saturday.
