Betty Jean Jones

Betty Jones, age 79 of the Plainville Community, passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at her residence. Betty was born November 23, 1934 in Gordon County, a daughter of the late Hurley Davis and Clara Grizzle Nesbitt. She was a retired employee of Georgia Textile and a lifetime resident of Gordon County. Betty’s father Hurley Davis died at an early age and she was raised by her mother and stepfather, Claude Nesbitt who also precedes her in death. Betty is survived by her husband, WM. “Harold” Jones of Plainville; a daughter, Candy Brake and her husband Jeff of Plainville; a brother, Fain Smith and his wife Helen of the Nickelsville Community; one grandson Dewayne Brake and his wife Dana; and one great-grandson, Hunter Brake. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, October 17th from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery.
