Betty Ferguson Holbrook

Wednesday, October 01, 2008 Mrs. Betty Ferguson Holbrook, age 80, of South Wall Street, Calhoun. Died Wednesday morning October 1st at her residence. Betty was born in Floyd County June 19, 1928. Daughter of the late Earl and Winnie Estelle Fox Ferguson. She was a lifelong resident of Calhoun, was of the Baptist faith and prior to her retirement was employed by the Calhoun First National Bank for more than 30 years. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Grace Goode Ferguson and her husband John Holbrook. Survivors include her sister, Frances F. Campbell of Calhoun. Niece, Charaman Campbell Blankenship and her husband Harvey of Defuniak Springs, FL.. Nephew, Billy Campbell, Jr. and his wife Jill of Ringgold. Cousin, Jean Cox of Calhoun. Sister-in-law, Margaret Holbrook Ridden of St. Petersburg, FL.. A special friend, Jamie Hall. As well as numerous other cousins. Funeral services will be conducted Friday October 3rd at 2pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home. With Rev. Ken Connor officiating. Burial will follow in Blackwood Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will include, Dale Dempsey, Mike Jones, Pat Kelly, Brian Cox, Edward Owens and Rick Patterson. The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 5 until 8:30pm.
