Betty Crowder, age 90, of Adairsville, passed away Saturday morning May 18th, at her residence.
Betty was born August 17, 1928 in Greenville, South Carolina, daughter of the late Henry H. Minton and Maude Graham Minton. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She graduated from Massey Business College, earned her private pilot’s license, loved ballroom dancing, traveling, and was famous for all her “short cuts.”
Betty was preceded in death by her first husband, George Wesley Murray, and her sister, Ruth Callahan.
Survivors include her husband, William “Bill” Crowder; son, George W. Murray, Jr. “Chip”, three daughters, Denise M. Stephenson (husband Jerry), Darlene M. Buchanan (husband Jerry), and Becky H. Murray; six grandchildren, Jerry “Scooter” Buchanan, Jena M. Tribble, Wesley J. Buchanan, William Seth Murray, Beth M. Faircloth, and Matthew Jake McLemore; plus ten great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday May 21st at 5:30pm at Eastview Cemetery in Adairsville with Dr. Dan Barton officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 3 until 5pm on Tuesday, May 21st at the funeral home.
