Betty Burchett

Betty Burchett, age 80 of Calhoun, passed peacefully on Monday, July 17, 2017 in Gordon Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born on April 30, 1937 in Gordon County to the late Edwin Sullivan and Beatrice Evans Sullivan. She was a member of Belmont Baptist Church. Betty was a well-known Beautician for more than 40 years, and loved creating beauty. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Betty is survived by her husband, Howard “JR” Burchett; three sons, Paul Shirley and his wife, Wanda, Barry Shirley and his wife Wanda, and Randy Burchett; four daughters, Janie Osborn and her husband Clay, April Shirley, Kathy Heckman, and Julie Russell; sister, Carol Adams; nineteen grandchildren; and thirty-five great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, July 20th at 2 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. John Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will be Barry Shirley, Paul Shirley, Greg Meadows, Larry Black, Lamar Dean, Howard Brock, and Benny Wood.
