Thursday, June 26, 2008 Mrs. Bettie Ruth Gallman Stanfield age 71 of 188 Honeysuckle Dr. S.W. the Scottsville Community died Thursday June 26th in Erlanger Medical Center, Chattanooga , Tn. Following a brief illness. Bettie was born in Gordon County on Aug. 2, 1936 daughter of the late Albert and Gladys Wisner Gallman and spent her entire life here. She was a member of the Plainville Independent Methodist Church and was a homemaker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two daughters; Cynthia Ruth Stanfield and Gail Stanfield Nasworthy, a brother; Howard Gallman and a sister; Shirley Church Survivors include her husband of 54 years Robert Stanfield of Scottsville, one son and dtr-in-law; James and Dienne Stanfield of Adairsville, four daughters; Judy Clark and her husband David of Coosa, Toni Fuller and her husband Tim of Plainville, Kathy Gullahorn and her husband Tommy of Cuba, Alabama and Connie Pettit of Atlanta, one brother; Donald “Duck” Gallman of Calhoun and a sister Ruby Tinch of Calhoun. 14 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday June 28th. from the Plainville Independent Methodist Church with Revs. Ted Fuller, Bobby Stephens and Hoyt Coker officiating. Interment will follow in the Scott Cemetery in Plainville. Pallbearers are grandsons Duane Nasworthy, Kaleb Gullahorn, Casey Stanfield, and grandsons-in-law James Ware, Brandon Allmon, Josh Bailey, Michael Wood and Ben Powell and they are asked to meet at the Church at 12:45 P.M. Saturday. On Saturday the body will be carried to the Church to lie instate from 1:00 until the funeral hour. The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Friday evening. Kay Stephens , Amber Lee and Charles Williams will have charge of the music. The family requests that contributions be made to the Plainville Independent Methodist Church in addition to flowers.
