Bette Wilbanks Payne

Bette Wilbanks Payne, age 84 of Dalton, passed away on Monday, December 10, 2012 at her residence. Bette was born on May 8, 1928 in Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late Med Mansfield Wilbanks and Ida Mae Beck Wilbanks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her sister, Anne Chaffee; sister, Robbie Fowler; brother, George William Wilbanks; and sister, Medalyn Allen. Survivors include: one daughter, April West of Dalton; sisters: Debbie Lee Brown of Dalton and Bertha Russell of Hirham; two grandchildren: Lindsay West Guenther and her husband Jonathan of Fort Worth and Whitney Lauren West of Denton, TX; nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11am on Monday, December 17th from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Hermann officiating. Burial will follow in the Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers including: Larry Fowler, David Wilbanks, Frank Brown, Junior Allen, Anthony Allen, Todd Fowler and Jimmie Fowler. Honorary Escorts will include Jeff West and Ricky Fowler. The family will receive friends from 4 – 8pm on Sunday, December 16th at the funeral home.
