Bethel Lee Nichols

Friday, May 14, 2010 Mr. Bethel Lee Nichols, age 73, of Calhoun. Died Friday afternoon May 14, 2010 in Gordon Hospital. Lee was born April 14, 1937 in Fort Payne, Alabama. Son of the late J.D. and Melissa Ann Nichols. Prior to his retirement he was employed as a truck driver with Carolina Freight. Lee was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Salem Baptist Church and was Past Master of the Sugar Valley Masonic Lodge F &AM #733 and the Resaca Daylight Lodge # 724. Besides is parents Lee was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Smith Nichols and his daughters; Melissa Ann Nichols and Melody Lynn Nichols. Survivors include his son, Bobby Nichols and his wife Sabrina of the Sonoraville Community. Stepson, Michael Lee of Calhoun. One step-daughter, Tina Lovell of Calhoun. One sister, Christine Smith of Rainsville, Al.. Five step-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Monday May 17th at 2pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home. With Rev. William Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery with full Masonic Rites. Pallbearers serving will include member of the Resaca and Sugar Valley Masonic Lodges. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2 until 5pm.
