Bessie Catherine Patterson Moore, age 83, of Rome, passed away Sunday May 17th in Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Bessie was born August 16, 1931 in Gordon County, daughter of the late John Felix Patterson and Lannie Ardell Harris Patterson. She was of the Methodist faith. Bessie was the Valedictorian of her 1950 graduating class of Belwood High School. She was a former employee of Georgia Tufters and prior to her retirement was a accountant executive with the Vandervell American Company, Atlanta, GA.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, George S. Moore, her son, Stephen Michael Moore, sister, Faye Dodd, and a brother, Howard Patterson.
Survivors include one son, George S. Moore, Jr. and his wife Lori of Rome, two brothers, Fred Patterson and his wife Joanne and Ray Patterson and his wife Eula of Calhoun, two sisters, Jean Bennett of Calhoun and Maxine Roberts and her husband J.W. all of Dalton, six grandchildren, Chris, Tracy, Taylor, Margaret Catherine, Trey and Bennett. Several great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday May 21st at 2PM from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. David Harper officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving include, Taylor Ray Harris, Chip Towers, William M. Moore III, Lamar Roberts, David Patterson and Ricky Bennett.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 11AM until 2PM prior to the service.
