Mrs. Berma Holsomback, age 86, of the Sugar Valley Community. Died Saturday afternoon in Gordon Hospital following several months of declining health.
Berma was born in Gordon County, January 4, 1923. Daughter of the late Samuel D. and Mary Casey Williams Sr. She was a homemaker and member of the Sugar Valley Baptist Church. Berma was a member of the Floyd Springs Order of the Eastern Star and was active in the restoration program of the Old Historic Sugar Valley Baptist Church. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Samuel D. Williams, Jr..
Survivors include her husband; Forrest Holsomback. Two sons; John Forrest Holsomback,Jr. and his wife Linda of Fairmount and Neal Holsomback and his wife Barbara of Sugar Valley. One stepdaughter; Polly Brown and her husband Jeff of Calhoun. Two sisters; Polly Autry and her husband Faye of Plainville and Edna Connelly of Athens. One brother; Ford J. Williams of Athens. Seven grandchildren, Eight great-grandchildren and One Great Great-Grandchild also survives.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday May 25th at 11am from the Historic Old Sugar Valley Baptist Church. With Rev. Mitch Phillips and Rev. Dwaine Shadix officiating. Burial will follow in the Sugar Valley Baptist Cemetery. Burt Jeffords will have charge of the music.
Pallbearers serving include; Jay Holsomback, Jonathan Holsomback, Jerry Holsomback, Bobby Holsomback, Sammy Joe Holsomback,Kevin Holsomback, Travis Holsomback and Mark Autry.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 4 until 8pm.
