Benjamin Herbert "Benny" Coulter, age 67, a well known funeral director and member of the Thomas Funeral Home staff. Died Saturday January 1st in Gordon Hospital following a sudden attack. Benny was born September 22, 1943 in Floyd County. Son of the late Herbert Millard and Lillie Bell Coulter. He was a member of the Adairsville United Methodist Church and was a charter member of The Sons of Confederate Veterans, Stand Watie Camp #915. Benny was also preceded in death by a infant son, Michael Coulter. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Brown Coulter of Calhoun. Two sons; Todd Coulter of Calhoun and Jody Coulter of Acworth. Sister in law, Joy Taylor of Calhoun . Brothers in law; Alan Brown of Kennesaw and Larry Brown and his wife Doris of Calhoun. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday January 4th at 1pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home. With Dr. Bert Vaughn and Chaplain Dave Smith officiating. Burial will in Fain Cemetery. Cathy Talley will have charge of the music. Pallbearers serving include; Bruce Thomas, Alvin Long, Max Tomlinson, Justin Thomas, Paige Rankin, Joey Peace, Kevin McClain, Kevin Rickett, and Jimmy Shaw. The family request that in lieu of flowers donations should be made to the George Chambers Resources Center, 1000 Highway 53 Spur, Calhoun, Georgia,30701. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5 until 8pm.
