Ben Eugene Crawford

Ben Eugene Crawford, age 78 of Calhoun, passed away Sunday morning July 17, 2011 in Starcrest of Cartersville. Ben was born March 2, 1933 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Son of the late Ben Lee Crawford and Freddie Gail Pickle Crawford. He was a well known Gordon County businessman, Administrator, and Entrepreneur. Ben was a member of the North Georgia Christian Center, the Calhoun Rotary Club where he was a Paul Harris Fellow, the Georgia Nursing Home Association and the American Health Care Association. He is survived by his wife Joyce Lansford Crawford of Calhoun. Two daughters; Cynthia Jean Blackwell and her husband Tim of South Carolina and Cathy Joyce Holbert and her husband Wade of Calhoun. One brother, J.C. Crawford of Texas. Three sisters; Mary Azrikan and her husband Jerry of Florida, Joan Crawford of California, and Jill Luehr of Texas. Five grandchildren; Ashley Holbert, Nicole Holbert, Matthew, Andrew and Thomas Blackwell. Funeral Services will be conducted at 3:00p.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at Thomas Funeral Home with speaker James Bishop. Donna Anderson will have charge of music. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery.
