Mrs. Beda (Bee) Elizabeth Fowler, age 78, of 305 Henderson Bend Rd., Calhoun, died Monday December 18th. at the home of a daughter in Talking Rock, Ga. following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Fowler was born in Elmhurst, Ill., on Oct. 10, 1928 daughter of the late William and Beda Josephine Smith. She had been a resident of Calhoun for over 39 years and prior to retirement was employed by B.J.’s Restaurant. She attended the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Jasper, Ga. and in addition to her parents was preceded in death by her husband; Winfred George Fowler and a sister; Shirley Popalah.
Survivors include one son; Jim Fowler of Calhoun, four daughters; Beda L. Ryan and her husband Ronald of Calhoun, Donna Evans and her husband Allen of Talking Rock, Ga., Betty Jo CHarvat and her husband Steve of Calhoun and Gail Mae Ellenburg of Calhoun. 10 grandchildren and they include; Jamie Starkey, Joey Fowler, Josephine, JerriLynn, and Jessica Ryan, Corey, Ryan and Taylor Evans, Crystal and Amber Shannon. 5 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm Wednesday December 20th from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Pastor Keith Reid and Dr. Ben Langley officiating. Interment will follow in the Chandler Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving include Bobby Serritt, Jason Serritt, Chris Honeycutt, Joe Augustyn, James Fowler and Corey Evans . Gene Kelley will serve as an honorary Escort.
The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home after 5:00 P.M. Today (Tuesday) and on Wednesday morning.
