Barbara Ann Ponder Patterson

Barbara Ann Ponder Patterson, born January 9, 1945 passed away on Saturday evening January 22nd at the age of 66. Her sister Willie Faye Ponder Haygood passed away just hours earlier at her home in Calhoun. Mrs. Patterson was the daughter of the late William A. (Will) Ponder and Bertha Bell Ponders Richards. She was also preceded in death by her husband Jimmy Odell Patterson. Survivors include her son, Tony Patterson. Three sisters; Marjorie Ponder Elrod, Darlene Robinson, and Sue Evans. Her Brothers; Coy Richards, Edward Richards, and Jerry Richards. Two grandsons; Dustin Patterson and his wife Wendy and Cody Patterson and his wife Whitney. Two great grandchildren; William Lee Patterson and Julia Brook Patterson. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday January 26th at 2pm from Pleasant Grove / Ryo Baptist Church. With Rev. Denver Boling officiating. Sally Jones will have charge of the music. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with family members serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday and Tuesday night from 4 until 8pm and on Wednesday until 11am at which time she will be taken to the church to lie in state from 12 noon until the funeral hour..
