Barbara Jo Harbour, age 85 of Calhoun, passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2017 in Gordon Hospital surrounded by her family.
Jo was born on December 12, 1931 in Gordon County to the late Lum Greeson and Winnie Caroline Tatum Greeson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her siblings, Bill Greeson, Tatum Greeson, June Holland, Robbie Greeson, Bennie Lee Barrett, Bonnie Hall and Myra Thornbrough; and beloved special nephews, Freddy Holland and Terry Greeson.
Barbara was a member of Heritage Baptist Church. Barbara Jo retired from Fafnir Bearings, where she loved and inspired so many co-workers.
Jo is survived by her husband, John A. Harbour of Calhoun; three daughters, Sue Ellen Thomas and her husband Bruce of Calhoun, Jeanne Hammontree and her husband Richard of Franklin, Tennessee, and Kim Harbour and her husband Randy Gilbert of Calhoun; five grandchildren, Christy Clyatt Sipple and her husband Harry, Cari Clyatt Wilkes and her husband Richard, Holly Hammontree Tondreau and her husband Patrick, Jordan Hammontree, and Johnathan Harbour; and four great-grandchildren, Kylee Tondreau, Harley Tondreau, Jackson Rothstein and Harbour Jane Wilkes. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be conducted at Heritage Baptist Church on Sunday, May 28th at 2 PM with Dr. Brent Davis officiating. Rebecca Owen, Faye Land and Kathy Faith will have charge of music. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving will be Byron Greeson, Kim McNeese, Zip Holland, Preston Aker, Kyle Brown, Hugh Hall, Donald Crump, and Eli Corona. Honorary Pallbearers will be her co-worker friends from Fafnir Bearing.
Barbara Jo will lie in state at the church on Sunday from 1:30 PM until the funeral hour at 2 PM.
The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 4 PM until 7 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
