Barbara Dianne Blackmon

Barbara Dianne Blackmon, age 74 of Calhoun, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at her residence. Barbara was born on May 26, 1941 in Atlanta, GA to the late Henry Grady McCullough and Mirial Gwendolyn Ricks McCullough. Barbara was an organist for various churches for over 50 years, and was the church organist and member of the Calhoun First United Methodist Church since 1973. She had a love for and taught music for many years, and was a past member of the Calhoun Civic Chorus. Survivors include her husband, Joseph Clifford Blackmon of Calhoun; three daughters, Sherry McCarver and her husband Stacey of Marietta, Karen Smith and her husband Greg of Cartersville, and Lynda Bernard and her husband Tony of Marietta; one sister, Beverly Earley and her husband Danny of Macon; and five grandchildren, Katie Miranda and her husband Louis, Christopher McCarver and his wife Katrina, Tori Smith, Anthony Bernard, and Dominic Bernard. Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, December 31st at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Calhoun First Methodist Church with Dr. Ed Herring and Rev. Roger Vest officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Memorial Garden of Stockbridge, GA at 3:00 PM with grandsons and sons-in-law serving as pallbearers. Barbara will lie in state on Thursday from 10 AM until the funeral hour at 11 AM at the church.
