A.W. Long

A.W. Long, age 75 of Resaca, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2014 at his residence. A.W. was born on April 22, 1937 in Gordon County to the late Doc Long and Lucille McRee Long. He was a member of the Evangelistic Outreach Ministry Church, and was an incorporate officer of Calvary Christian Fellowship. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Long; two grandsons, Kevin Long and Jason Long; three sisters, Wanda, Mildred and Selena; and one brother, Johnny. He is survived by two sons, Reverend David Long and his wife Cindy of Calhoun, and Reverend Lamar Long and his wife Pam of Adairsville; one daughter, Debbie German of Resaca; brothers and sisters, Inez, Mae, Clarence, Billy Joe, Betty Jean, Bud Lee, Rosie, and Mary Sue; four grandchildren, Kimberly Jenkins, Joshua and Tina Bramlett, Robert and Rebecca Walker, and Emily Walker. Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, February 14th at 1:00pm from the Evangelistic Outreach Ministry with the Reverend David Long, Reverend Lynn Johnson and Reverend Lamar Long. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home.
