Avanelle Holbert

Avanelle Holbert, age 90 of Calhoun, passed away on December 4, 2016. Avanelle was born on September 10, 1926 in Gordon County, GA to the late Marion Holland and Ruby Jo Taylor Holland. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She is survived by her three sons, Mike Holbert of Calhoun, Mylon Holbert of Fairmount and Larry Holbert of Calhoun; two daughters, Sara Heath of Calhoun and Rhonda Worley of Ranger; two brothers, Sammy Holland of Calhoun and Wayne Holland of Montrose MI; sister, Peggy Taylor of Morristown, TN; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, December 6th at 11 AM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend DaRon Henson officiating. Burial will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Park with grandsons serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 5 PM until 8 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
