Audrey Leonard

Saturday, August 04, 2007 Mrs. Audrey V. Leonard, age 83 of 265 Baker Rd. S.E., Calhoun, died Friday evening in Calhoun Health Care following an extended illness. Mrs. Leonard was born in Bartow County on November 9, 1923 daughter of the late Merle and Dusky Tidwell Vaughn. She was a Baptist and was formerly employed Gordon Hosptial in the Dietery Department. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Jesse Willard “J.W.” Leonard , one brother; Wiley Vaughn and two sisters; Ollie Hale and Thelma Thurman. Survivors include three sons; Wayne Leonard and his wife Judy of Resaca, Buddy Leonard and his wife Stella of Adairsville, and Wiley Leonard and his wife Barbara of Calhoun, three daughters; Dora Ann Oliver and her husband James of Calhoun, Vera Mae Rinehart and her husband Roy of Calhoun, and Rosebud Leonard of Calhoun. 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday August 5th. from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Dwaine Shadix and Rev. Danny Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Concord Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include Brian Rexroad, Randy Allegood, Ricky Leonard, Zack Grizzle and Gregory Smith and they are asked to meet at the Thomas Funeral Home at 1:30 P.M. Sunday. The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Saturday evening.
