Ashton Caroline Herndon

Ashton Caroline Herndon, age 49 of Ranger, GA, passed away on Monday, August 2, 2021 at Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome, GA.

Ashton was born on June 5, 1972 in Kingsport, TN, daughter of Charles Dykes and the late Deborah William Dykes. Ashton was a 1990 graduate of Sullivan North High School in Kingsport, TN. After high school, Ashton attended Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, GA where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. She was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Kingsport, TN. Ashton loved her pugs, Bugsy, Ollie, and Abbie, and also her friends at Cracker Barrell.

Ashton is survived by: her husband, Rex Allen Herndon of Ranger, GA; her father, Charles Dykes of Kingsport, TN; two brothers, Chris Dykes and his wife Janine of Houston, TX, and Kevin Dykes of Kingsport, TN; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, August 6, 2021 at 11 AM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend David Temples officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 6, 2021 from 9 AM until the funeral hour at 11 AM at Thomas Funeral Home.
