Anthony David “Honey” Mulkey, age 39 of Calhoun, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 14, 2015 at his residence.
Anthony was born on January 11, 1976 in Gordon County to the late Ralph Harold Mulkey and Evelyn Christeen Holtzclaw Mulkey. He was a member of Boone Ford Baptist Church. Anthony was an avid Georgia Bull Dog fan and enjoyed fishing and hunting. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Oliver Mulkey; and niece, Amy Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Shannon Gibson Mulkey of Calhoun; four sisters, Charlotte Long, Beverly Mulkey, Teresa Smith and her husband Jimmy and Sharon Cook and her husband Bobby; sister-in-law, Brittany O’Shields; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Larry and Nancy Gibson; nieces and nephews, Russell and Danielle Smith, Adam and CJ Cook, Morgan Smith, Jordan and Bentlee Smith, Keeghan Cook, James and Abbey O’Shields; and his very best friend, Eric Bohannon.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, December 16th at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Gary Quarles officiating. Eric Bohannon, and Anthony and Shania Bunch will have charge of music. Interment will follow in Chandler Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving include Eric Bohannon, Tim Wilson, Dale Stone, Tommy Pratt, Ricky Simpson, David Buckner, Steve Quarles and Jeremy Holtzclaw. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of Boone Ford Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations in memory of Anthony be made to the Cook family at 12 Dewey Drive, Adairsville, GA 30103.
