Annie Sue Stancill Blackstock, age 91, of Resaca, passed away Friday morning September 6th at Gordon Hospital.
Annie was born in Murray County August 15, 1922, daughter of the late William H. Stancill and Dora Knowles Stancill. She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and a retired hostess at McDonald’s in Calhoun.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Blackstock in October of 1997, one sister, Velvie Walraven, and two brothers, Ford Stancill and Arnold Stancill.
She is survived by three sons; Rev. Harold Blackstock, Herbert Blackstock, and Harvey Blackstock all of Calhoun. two sisters in law, Lois Stancill of Dalton and Jo Stancill of Resaca, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday September 8th at 2pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmie Timms officiating. Bonnie Burns will arrange music and burial will follow in Corinth Baptist Cemetery with the Reverend Terry Timms in charge of graveside services.
Pallbearers serving include; Randy Blackstock, Bryan Blackstock, Matthew Blackstock, Culley Blackstock, Carter Blackstock, Brett Wright, and Skyler Black . Nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 5 until 8pm at the funeral home.
