Annie Mae Owens, age 81 of Ranger, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 in Gordon Hospital.
Mae was born on November 26, 1932 in Gordon County to the late Clemon Hancock and Berta Lee Green Hancock. Mae was a member of the RYO Baptist Church. She was the oldest of fifteen children. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ellis Owens; brothers, Clayton, John, Jacky and Curtis Hancock; and sons, Eddie Wayne Owens and Chuck Owens.
She is survived by three daughters, Dendia Chastain and her husband Charles of Talking Rock, Debbie Watts and her husband Ron of Cumming, GA, and Kay Andrews and her husband Danny of Cartersville; six grandchildren, Jeremy Silvers and his wife Melanie, Kris Silvers and his wife Danielle, Crystal Dale and her husband Michael, Joshua Andrews, Jordan Andrews, and Haley Owens; one great-grandson, Fletcher Ellis Silvers; six sisters; four brothers; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, January 17th at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Harold Owens and Reverend Reggie Goble officiating. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving will be Joshua Andrews, Jeremy Silvers, Kris Silvers, Michael Dale, Brad Cochran, and Kemp McReynolds.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5:00pm until 9:00pm at Thomas Funeral Home.
