Mrs. Annie McCollum Nations, age 94, of the Sugar Valley community died Saturday morning April 19th at her residence following several months of declining health.
Mrs. Nations was born in Gordon County December 30, 1913. Daughter of the late William H. and Edna Elizabeth Fuller McCollum. She was a homemaker and member of the Hill City Baptist Church. Those that have joined her in heaven are her parents, her beloved husband; Henry Daniel Nations, brother; Carl McCollum, sisters; Esther Shaw and Clara Morgan, and son in laws; Roy Seritt and Bill Goode.
She is survived by one son; Bud M. Nations and his wife Jean of Sugar Valley. Daughters; Charlene Seritt of Sugar Valley, Chris Goode of Dalton, Sue Haley and her husband Bud of Dalton, Barbara Carpenter and her husband Ray of Hendersonville, N.C., and Edna Glancy and her husband Al of Sugar Valley. One brother; James H. McCollum of Sugar Valley. One sister; Mildred M. Roberson of Chatsworth. Nine Grandchildren; Greg Seritt, Danny Seritt, Richard Goode, Carol Pinson, Lane Haley, Phil Carpenter, Shawn and Daniel Nations. Ten Great-Grandchildren; Ethan and Megan Goode, Jack and William Haley, Nicholas, Morgan, Katelyn and William Carpenter, Rachel and Riley Judith Pinson. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday April 21st at 2pm at the Hill City Baptist Church. With Dr. Carl Billue and Rev. Shawn Nations officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Music will be arranged by John McDonald, Mike Day and Tricia Nations. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 9 pm Sunday.
The family request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Hill City Baptist Church Building Fund.
