Mrs. Annie Mae Holland Gwin age 90 of Calhoun, died Sunday December 27th. in Gordon Hospital following a brief illness.
Annie was born in Murray County on Oct. 13, 1919 a daughter the late Waymond Augustus and Tinnie Harrison Holland and had spent most of her life in Gordon County. She was a Baptist and was a Restaurant cook. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ralph A. Gwin Jr,in 1970, a son; Waymond Augustus Gwin, a sister: Lucille Black and a brother; Eugene Holland.
Survivors include a daughter; Georgia Mae Slaughter and her husband Ollie of Calhoun, four grandchildren; Eddie Ellis an Judy of Calhoun, Phillip Ellis and Claudia of Atlanta, Karen Mitchell and Bill of Calhoun and Pam Gwin of Pennsylvania, seven great-grandchildren; Karen Stevens , Amber Merchleski, Shasha Merchleski, Margaret Ellis, Kayla Mitchell, Alex Ellis and Emilie Ellis.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday December 30th. from the chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Poe, Rev. Alfred Freeman and Rev. Lamar Patton Officiating. Interment will follow in the Sugar Valley Old Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving include Michial Brookshire, Richie Stevens, Jimmy Black,Jr., Michael Jones, Wilson Bob Coker, Brian Coker and Raymond Shirley and they are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:45 P.M. on Wednesday.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday evening.
