Annie Ruth Hollaran Burns, age 84 of Calhoun, died Monday, July 4, 2011 in the Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Burns was born February 11, 1927 in Gordon County. Daughter of the late P.H. Hollaran and Ruby Hill Hollaran. She was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church and was employed prior to her retirement at the Gordon County Training Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Burns and four sisters, Louise Jackson, Elizabeth Sullivan, Ruby Nell Robbins, and Mary Frances Stewart.
Survivors include her son Charles Burns of Calhoun. One sister, Annis Cleveland and her husband Kenneth of Calhoun. Two grandchildren, Lillie Ann Burns and Sarah Lynn Burns. A host of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday July 6th at 2pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home, with Rev. Loy Frix and Rev. Williams Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery with Rev. Gary Garland in charge of graveside rites.
Pallbearers serving include, Billy Jackson, Jerry Jackson, Jimmy Watkins, William Jones, Howard Brock, and Charles Baker.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8pm Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
