Ann Walters, age 58 of Calhoun, passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Morning Pointe Assisted Living.
Ann was born on October 6, 1955 in Cobb County to Paul Edward Gentry, Sr. and Nellie Allawane Sparks Gentry. She was a very active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Calhoun, where she served on several committees. She was the office manager for Larry Davis for fifteen years. She worked from 1992 until 1999 to help establish Gordon County’s 911. Prior to her retirement she was the Deputy Director of 911 for Whitfield County. She was always very active in her community and worked with Government agencies, preparing the community for Emergency situations.
She is survived by her husband Wayne Walters of Calhoun; daughter, Melissa Teague and her husband Gary of Rydal; two brothers, Paul Gentry, Jr. and his wife Leah of Adairsville, and Mitchell Gentry of Calhoun; sister, Cindy Dodd and her husband C.J. of Calhoun; ten grandchildren; and in addition to her daughter, five step-children also survive.
Memorial Services will be on Monday, June 30th at 11:00am from the First Presbyterian Church of Calhoun with Bob Butler officiating. Steven Miller will have charge of music. Burial will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 29th from 2:00pm until 6:00pm at the funeral home.
