Mrs. Ann David Hopper, age 86, of the Ranger Community, died Friday October 29, 2010 in Gordon Health Care.
Ann was born on December 5, 1923 in Birmingham, Alabama. She was the daughter of the late Dillwood and Annie Pittman Tinsley. Ann was a graduate of Calhoun High School class of 1941 and the Georgia State College for Woman in 1945. She was a retired school teacher with the Gordon County School System and an active member of the Gordon Hospital Auxiliary. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers; Walter and Jimmy Tinsley, and one sister, Jo Tinsley Brooks. A widow, she was married for forty years to Thurman Hopper of Ranger, who passed away in 1987.
Survivors include her three sons; Joseph (Alex) Hopper and his wife Sue of Kennesaw, David T. Hopper and his wife Susan of Hamilton, New York, and Robert E. Hopper and his wife Pamela of Waukee, Iowa; five grandchildren, Nathan Hopper, Rebecca Hopper, Rachael Wilson, Ann Hopper, and Benjamin Hopper. One great-grandson, Caleb Hopper also survives.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday November 1st at 10am from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Coady officiating. Burial will follow in the Hopper Family Cemetery in Ranger.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 3 until 7pm.
