Andrew Miller

Colby Andrew Miller, age 17, of Calhoun passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Friday evening January 6th in T.C. Thompson Children's Hospital. Colby was born December 27, 1994 in Chattanooga. Son of Andrew Miller and Ginger Woody Miller. He was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church where he was active with the church drama team, he also loved to attend the Sugar Valley Church of God. Colby was a honorary graduate of Calhoun High School where he was a avid fan and manager of Calhoun High's Athletic Department. He loved sports and as a youth played baseball and soccer. Colby loved the University of Georgia and his Atlanta Braves. Music was also a passion as he followed the Christian Band Shane and Shane. Survivors include his mother; Ginger Woody Miller of Calhoun. His father; Andrew Miller and his wife Angie of Rocksprings. Three brothers; Will Miller and Jake Miller both of Calhoun and Hunter Carpenter of Rocksprings. One sister; Taylor Carpenter of Rocksprings. Grandparents; Cheryl Woody of Statesboro, Randall Woody of Calhoun, Ricky Miller of Louisville, MS and Cynthia Stokes of Louisville, MS. Great-Grandparents; Mary Jo Woody of Calhoun and Ruth Miller of Louisville, MS. Several Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Monday January 9th at 2pm from the Trinity Baptist Church. With Rev. Hugh Hagen and Rev. Dwaine Shadix officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery with Jake Fowler in charge of graveside rites. Pallbearers serving include; Keith Flake, Taylor Flake, Scott Palmer, Clay Stephenson, Paul McKnight, and J.P. White. Honorary pallbearers will include the Calhoun High Athletic Department, Calhoun High School Band, nurses and staff of T.C. Thompson Children's Hospital, as well as the youth of both the Trinity Baptist Church and the Sugar Valley Church of God. Colby will be taken to Trinity Baptist Church Sunday afternoon to lie in state from 4 until 8pm and again on Monday from 12 noon until the funeral hour.
