Alma Patterson Bennett

Mrs. Alma Patterson Bruce Bennett, age 92, of Calhoun. Died Thursday July 3rd in Hamilton Medical Center. Alma was born in Gordon County August 20, 1915. Daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Patterson. She was a homemaker and member of the Calhoun First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold A. Bennett and her first husband, Clyde Herbert Bruce. Survivors include two sons, Steve Bruce and his wife Ann of Fairmount and Lester Bruce and his wife Daisie of Dalton. One daughter, Joan Goddard of Calhoun. One sister, Ethel Black of Cartersville. One sister-in-law, Ruby Patterson of Fairmount. Seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and fourteen great-great-grandchildren also survives. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday July 6th at 2pm from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home. With Dr. Bert Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in Jerusalem Cemetery in Jasper. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Saturday evening July 5th from 6 until 8pm.
