Alfred Gorton

Dr. Alfred W. Gorton, age 78 of Calhoun, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at his residence. Alfred was born on October 23, 1934 in Ft. Bragg, CA. He was the son of the late Samuel Hiram Gorton and Zella Lolita Faucette. Alfred has spent most of his life in Blythe and Loma Linda, California, but has been a resident of Calhoun for the past six months. He was a member of the Calhoun Seventh Day Adventist Church and was a graduate of the Loma Linda School Dentistry in 1963. He was a well known amazing Clarinet player and spent over forty years with the band "Group Therapy." Survivors include: his wife, Nadine R. Gorton of Calhoun; three sons, Howard Craig Gorton of Portland, OR, Ronald Wayne Gorton of Tucson, AZ and Lance Curtis Gorton of Yucaipa, CA; one daughter, Sandi Bakland of Calhoun; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.
