Aileen Jackson (Pat) Underwood

Aileen Jackson (Pat) Underwood, age 97 former resident of Gordon County and Cobb County, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 4, 2020. Aileen was born on October 7, 1922 in Gordon County to the late Carl (Dick) Jackson and Aileen Dyar Jackson. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Clyde Underwood, and several brothers and sisters. Although she was a public-school teacher in Gordon County and Cobb County for more than 25 years, she was very proud of her work early in her career at Calhoun First National Bank and General Motors. She is survived by her daughter, Laurie Porter and her husband Ted; two granddaughters, Ellen Porter and Carleen Porter. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2019 at 1:00 PM from Sam Jones United Methodist Church in Cartersville with Reverend Kevin Lobello officiating. The family will receive friends on January 11, 2019 from 11:30 AM until 12:45 PM at the Family Life Center at Sam Jones United Methodist Church. In addition to flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sam Jones United Methodist Church or North Cobb Christian School.
