Agnes S. Henderson

Sunday, December 14, 2008 Mrs. Agnes Shivers Henderson, age 87 of Calhoun died at 1:45 PM, Saturday, December 13, 2008 in Calhoun Health Care following an extended illness. Agnes was born, May 9, 1921, daughter of the late Doctor Charles C. Shivers and Flora Martin Shivers. Her husband, Colonel O.E. Henderson and several brothers and sisters preceded her in death. They are Ruby Blankenship, Joe Shivers, Charles Shivers, Owens Shivers, and Robert Shivers. Agnes had lived most of her life in Gordon County and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Calhoun. Local survivors include nephews, John Shivers and his wife Elizabeth, Mike Shivers and his wife Janet all of Calhoun, additional nieces and nephews are Glenda Cooper of Nashville, Tn, Marsha Synnott and Roger Shivers both of Starkville, Mississippi, Bob Shivers of Plant City, Florida, Chris Shivers of Charlotte North Carolina, Amelia Shivers of Lewisburg, Pa, and Kathy Sheehy of Frederick , Md. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM., Monday, December 15 at the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. Bert Vaughn officiating. Burial will be in Fain Cemetery.
